The International Institute of Geopsychiatry was founded following a landmark symposium in 2024 that brought together clinicians and academics from around the world and consolidated years of developmental work. Its principled mission is to advance research, policy, and education, building awareness, collaborations, and innovative approaches for the future.

The Institute promotes an understanding of how macro factors and geopolitical challenges influence mental health outcomes at populational, community, and individual levels.
The Institute supports research, policy, education, and clinical excellence to pioneer culturally-sensitive solutions to complex global problems that can have local mental health implications.
The Institute oversees and is supported by international Collaborative Centres for geopsychiatry and innovative Partners around the world.
